Job hunting?
Homeboy Security asked:
I graduated from college in December 2005. Since then, I worked for a tax preparation office and a temp agency until June. I moved to New York to take care of my father for seven months. During the last month, I was also working at a retail store part time. My father was placed in a home in January and I could not afford the rent where I was living with just a part-time job. I moved in with my brother in North Carolina on January. I have sent out several resumes and filled out tons of applications, but I am having a hard time getting an interview. One of the few places I went to said it would be hard to get a job because of my “spotty employment record.” There was a 6-year stretch when I worked for one employer, followed by a seven-year stretch when I worked for another. How can I present this to employers?
